Frank is a 2yr old miniature poodle (weighing 5kg) he is castrated, microchipped, vaccinated, flea and worm treated and has a clean bill of health, he will be rehomed with 5 weeks free pet insurance.

Frank came to us via another rescue after they saved him from being put to sleep when his owners had booked him in saying he was guarding a room from them and they were terrified of him....I mean he is the size of a small cat ;) Frank can certainly show a spirited side but he has been an absolute angel with us here and we have seen no aggression.

Frank is a typical little poodle, he bonds quickly with his people and there may be potential that he could become protective of someone but we really haven't seen that here, the only issues we have witnessed is some guarding of a particular toy around other dogs and reacting back if another dog has a go at him or makes him feel vulnerable. He loves a cuddle on your lap and is happy to be picked up, in fact he is a great snuggler.

Generally he has been good with the dogs here, even eating his food alongside several other dogs with no issues whatsoever. He has formed a really lovely friendship with Baby since being in the same foster home and they LOVE to play together and have a very similar rough and noisy play style which suits them both brilliantly.  It would be so lovely if they found a home together. Failing that Frank really does need a similar size and energy playful dog in his new home as he has loved having playmates with us. He can live with dog savvy cats that won't run from him (he will chase a running cat but happily sleeps on the bed with a cat that ignores him). Sadly he cannot be homed with children under 12yrs.

Frank was pretty thin when he came to us and had gained some weight since being here so we do wonder whether his guarding of human food in the kitchen of his former home was actually because he was hungry!

He walks lovely on the lead, travels well in the car, is housetrained, was great with the vet, good being groomed and loves to sleep upstairs with you at night, mostly in his own bed. He will need a home with someone who is "dog savvy" and understands any guarding cues and who can provide him with plenty of exercise and interesting walks. He will need a home with a nice fully enclosed garden to play with his toys in.

He is ok being left for a few hours but is used to having plenty of
company so wouldn't want to be left for long periods.

Being fostered in Swadlincote, Derbys but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and adoption donation of £300

needs please email us telling us
