Socks is a 15 years young male terrier, he is unneutered because of his advanced age but he has had a much needed dental with us with quite a few extractions. His bloods were all excellent and is very fit & spritely for his age!
Socks came to us from the pound, his owner knew he was there but did not collect him and he was facing being put to sleep so we were so very happy that we could help him, we know he hasnt had the best life sadly.
Socks is a very sweet boy, he is pretty much deaf and is sight
impaired through some cataracts but he can still see to get around but needs a brighter light to help him as it gets dark.
He is very hand shy which really makes us so sad for him, he will close his eyes and cower if you move your hand too quickly so gently does it with this sweet boy.
He sleeps well at night in the bedroom in his own bed as he wasnt settling downstairs. He travels well in the car & loves going out for slow, steady walks as he likes to sniff a lot so would be ideal for someone who can enjoy a little potter with him.
He eats really well with no food aggression around other dogs and he loves getting treats! He doesn't have any doggy dementia but he needs reassurance at times with his limited sight & hearing and he has quite severe separation anxiety if left alone often or for too long, he will bark continuously even with other dogs with him, so best suited to a single person or a couple who work from home or are retired & home often.
He loves getting himself under the blankets all cosy and loves it when you rub his head & ears! He will cuddle up with you on the sofa and likes to be near to you in the day, he really does make a lovely little companion. He is fully housetrained and is clean overnight. He quite enjoys having a professional groom and he likes to be brushed out and doesnt mind having his doggy jumpers on to keep him nice and cosy.
He is absolutely fine with other dogs and can live with a canine pal or can be the only dog in the home, we arent able to cat test him Im afraid and he would need a home without small children. He will need a home with a nice secure garden to potter in.
Being fostered in Hinstock, Shropshire but can be rehomed further afield subject to homecheck and a voluntary donation given his advanced years.
